MARGARETHE is a custom-built, ketch-rigged ferrocement yacht that was built in 1975-1976 by a very knowledgeable, capable and local German engineer. Her design is the Sea Smoke from Samson Marine Design. Her layout from forward features a v-berth with storage lockers above. Just aft to port is an enclosed standing head area with a hanging locker to starboard. The salon with bench seating and table is located aft to port with the galley to starboard. The pilothouse features additional berth with a chart table and navigation area. There is no inside helm on this vessel. According to her 2006 survey, “Overall the vessel is in terrific condition relative to her age. The ferrocement construction had held up well and showed no signs of deterioration. The vessel shows pride of ownership by its current owner”. When we visited and listed her in February of 2013, she still exhibited an obvious pride of ownership by her owner. While she does need a new coat of paint on her deck and coachroof, she still appears to be a very solid cruiser that is quite capable of taking her new owners on their adventures.
